Material Engineer

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Material Engineer with expertise in materials science, ASME codes and standards, and graphite applications to support our reactor design, fabrication, and operational goals. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring material compatibility, performance, and modeling in highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Inform the selection of materials and their performance as part of our nuclear reactor plant systems.
  • Work with suppliers to interpret specifications/standards and optimize production methods/techniques.
  • Review supplier and service provider to support the development of the supply chain and acquisition of materials.
  • Perform material performance analyses to support design, manufacturing, construction and operation activities. 
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and standard work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in relevant Science or Engineering field (Materials, Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in material science or engineering, preferably in the nuclear, energy, or aerospace industries.
  • Knowledge of material behavior under extreme environment.
  • Experience with material fatigue, wear, fretting and other degradation phenomena.
  • Familiarity with material manufacturing and processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards (e.g. ASME).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team contributing to positive culture and overall team results.
